Cary is located in the heart of North Carolina's Triangle. Next to Research Triangle Park, it is minutes away from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Raleigh, the state capitol of North Carolina.

Cary's hometown feeling, educational, cultural (such as the Cary Heritage Museum), and recreational offerings make it a wonderful place to raise children. School-age children comprise about 23% of the Cary population.

Employment is high in North Carolina; in Cary, NC, that employment is professional. Cary boasts eight Colleges, universities and professional schools (including the famed Duke University and NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY AT RALEIGH), 5 Junior colleges and technical institutes, 24 Medical and Surgical Hospitals, and myriad clinics.

The Town of Cary was founded in the 1860's by Allison Francis Page. This U.S. Ambassador to Great Britain built the hotel in Carey that became the Page-Walker Arts & History Center (on the National Register for Historic Places)

Cary's public transportation includes the new GoTriangle! which serves the entire Triangle area in NC. Cary has also pioneered local transportation with C-Tran, a Town of Cary service. C-Tran offers door-to-door transportation by reservation to and from anywhere in Cary.
